How music and science shapes my art

Artists are often portrayed as lunatics, driven by emotion and the irrational; in a certain sense, this is certainly part of being an artist, but I believe it’s limiting to focus on these aspects as if they were the only ones that belong to them. Seeking the beyond is perhaps the most essential characteristic, looking a little further, learning more step by step without fear. Fear, inherent to our mortality, has a dual nature: it limits us but at the same time protects us. How can we manage it to bring out the best in it? I think music and science are two very powerful tools: one takes us elsewhere, to places where there is no fear, the other illuminates our steps in the chaotic world around us. I’ve always found comfort in both, feeling part of an immeasurable whole. On this page, I’ll post some reading suggestions and some related music.
